Sonargaon folk art and craft museum

The main building of Sonargaon museum is hosted at the Sardar Bari of Panam city. Sardar Bari was built by a Hindu Jamidar of Sonargaon in 1901. Alike the opposite Jamidar houses of that period this one also seems like Indian houses, but the form of the house was seemed like the ecu edifices. The baroque decoration and therefore the elaborated painting on the plaster of the building are really eye catching.

There are two Exhibition galleries inside the Sonargaon museum. Both of them contains some figures and dummies showing the local lifetime of Bangladeshi people, for instance farming, woman working etc. Also, you'd find the miniature version of the several boats from Bangladesh which are now a day’s vanished after competing with the mechanical water vehicles.

Things to try to around Sonargaon

The Museum area has several lakes, and you'll take a ship ride (by spending almost nothing fare as it's too cheap). Also you'll do a fishing at the lakes by paying a required amount of fee. The museum area may be a vast one where you'll do a picnic together with your family. Once I was a child we've been there as a picnic after the Eid with family and neighbors. From my observation it seemed like people had far more interest in entertainment instead of the humanities and history there.
Also, there's alittle local market where you'll buy crafts, and other stuffs like Jamdani Sarees.

Sonargaon, Panam City

Panam city is next to the Sonargaon museum where you'll see many old houses during a small village. it might take you many hundreds year back once you rehearse it. People that visit this museum they also visit the Panam city too. Also there's an old mosque named Goldie mosque which is nearby. Not lots of tourists visit this mosque, but it's a pleasant little old mosque and worth’s a visit.
